Blog December: Hit Someone

This is silly.  I know.

I'm a history guy.  I love reading about why things happened.  Particularly WWII.  For some reason I am completely captivated by that time period.  I tell you that only as a way of back story.

So pilots, particularly in WWII, and sometimes boat captains would paint little figures on the side of their plane or hull for the number of enemy planes or boats they had destroyed.  It was like "see what I have done.

So when I see this on the back of a van or SUV



 I'm thinking about this

And I think " man they've really hit a bunch of people with their vehicle.

I know it's silly, but that's where my brain goes.

Technology

My buddy John posted this link today on Facebook. It looked interesting and it is. It's a study of students from all over the world. They were asked to go without ALL media for 24 hours. No TV. No cell phone. No computer. No mp3 player. Nothing.

The results aren't incredibly shocking to me as a youth worker, but I did find some of the responses interesting....like the idea of a security blanket. It makes sense, I've just never put it in those terms.

I've been down and out (quite literally) but I"m sort of back.

This is with out a doubt the coolest picture I've seen this week. Doesn't look like much right? Well maybe you don't recognize VANILLA ICE and MC HAMMER!!!! They played one night together in Orem Utah. I wish I would've known....I would've been begging you all for plane fare to make it there!!!!

Irony Again

My family is taking naps. I'm watching football online. I just saw a UPS whiteboard commercial. I noticed something I never noticed before. Funny. Ironic perhaps.

The music in the background....there's only about 30 seconds of it...and there's no lyrics. But in a UPS commercial...they're using a song by "The Postal Service". HA.
