Penguins videos....ha ha Hossa

Just stopped by to brush some cobwebs off the old blog.

The first video I saw long long ago. The second video just made me laugh. If you haven't see the first, the second won't be funny at all.

Where Did Time Go?

This week we celebrated a special day in our family. Gotcha Day for Corban. Gotcha Day is the day Corban came home to us. July 13, 2006. It's kind of like a birthday, but we don't celebrate with presents. We make it a fun day. And a day to remember.

That morning 3 years ago was full of emotions. Fear, worry, excitement, joy, wonder, more fear and worry...HA. And as I type this Corban is in the next room singing "Why can't we be friends" and putting on his own sandals. In some sense it seems like yesterday that a very scared little boy got off a plane in Washington D.C. And in other ways there have been major changes in our "little boy".

My son who could only say 3 "sort of" words in Amharic when he came home is now one of the most articulate 4 year olds I've ever encountered (that's not me bragging). The boy who was just toddling around, now complains when it's time to come inside from running around and playing outside.

And less than a month from now Tobiah gets to have his first Gotcha Day home with us.

Marjorie recently found the on the picture on the left of Corban. It was taken not too long after he had come home to us. I was sitting in the chair doing work on the computer and he wanted to be near me. He squished in beside me....and then promptly fell asleep. The picture is cute in itself. The picture on the right is Tobiah a couple weeks ago. And what's he wearing?

I know my boys are growing up. I'm excited to see the men they'll become. There has to be part of me that longs for them to stay little and need me though.....

I like Summer

Since I've been bad at blogging this summer, I thought photos might be better. Some of the reasons I like summer.

Mari is amazing at going to pick strawberries. I'm a big fan of eating, but not so much of picking. I'll do it, but I do it grudgingly. I love my wife. She is amazing to me. These are only 3 quarts of the 8 or 9 she picked on this particular day. We've gone though about 24 quarts or so...

A few years back we bought a icee machine. (you could dig through the archives of my blog and find when we did it and my excitement.....and so could I, but honestly there aren't that many of you that read my blog and you're probably not going to go back and read the other one...........AND I'm lazy) The icee machine hasn't had much action this summer. Corban likes the idea of choosing a flavor. Tobiah just likes eating.

FREEZIE POPS. I'm pretty sure there's cocaine or something in them.

I've said before that I don't like feet. I've also said that I like my sons feet for some odd reason. I person would never wear flip flops. Flip flops on Corban make me laugh. Particulary when he tries (without much success) to run with them on.

I don't mind sitting outside watching the boys play. Every now and then our little snuggle monster needs a break on daddy's lap.

Watch

Ok I've been ridiculous bad about blogging, but I just saw this and you need to see it.
